For a while now, I’ve been privately maintaining MadCat‘s One Player Sleep datapack for newer versions of Minecraft.

Back in October 2023, MadCat accepted a pull request for the changes to support 1.20, but a similar PR for 1.21 support has lain un-approved since June 2024.

Madcat hasn’t posted on Twitter since 2021, nor uploaded to YT since then. His last Discord message is from 2023. And the official website has been dead since mid-2024.

According to the licence, Apache-2.0, as long as the licence is included, and I mark any changes I’ve made, I can re-distribute the files:

Redistribution. You may reproduce and distribute copies of the Work or Derivative Works thereof in any medium, with or without modifications[.]

With that in mind, I’ve decided to put my edits up on CodeBerg, post the files here for download, and see if I can get them up on Modrinth or CurseForge.

One Player Sleep Data Pack for Minecraft 1.15 to 1.20++

Thank you for choosing my data pack! Many years of testing in several servers and addressing all the problems has made this a really solid pack.

To better serve the community I’ve added some fool-proofing needed for servers with odd settings (like having the weather cycle off).

Features

This One Player Sleep Data Pack allows a player to skip the night on a Multiplayer Server.

Some of the features include:

• Plug and Play. Drop the zip file in the datapacks folder of your world everything will be installed automatically
• Weather Control. A common problem in multiplayer servers is that the weather goes crazy after skipping the night too many times, this Data Pack solves it.
• Waking up system. Any player can wake up sleeping players to stop them from skiping the night, just click on the sleeping announcement.
• Random sleeping announcements. A series of messages displayed at random when someone sleeps.
• Random wake up messages. A series of messages when a player is woken up by somebody.
• Players can stop storms if they go to sleep when is daytime.
